Introduction

Backup is one of the most significant tasks to protect a website's essential files. Maintaining your website's data and files in a secure location ensures you can restore your website in case of any disastrous issues. The primary purpose of website backups is to safeguard your website indefinitely.

Shared and Reseller Hosting Backup Terms

We perform regular backups on our shared and reseller hosting servers. However, the security of your data ultimately depends on the web hosting plan and features you use. We strongly recommend that clients maintain their own backups of website data to ensure protection in case of server issues or downtime.

You may request a backup copy of your website data once a month if you choose not to maintain your own backups. Please note that this request is not covered under our standard policy and terms. Our team is available to assist with any issues and provide all possible solutions.

If you require a backup copy, the following fees apply:

• ₹1000 + 18% GST for a Shared Hosting package.
• ₹3500 + 18% GST for a Reseller Hosting package with up to 10 cPanel accounts.

VPS Hosting Backup Terms

Hostnetindia does not maintain backups on a server or hosting plan basis for VPS hosting. While VPS hosting is protected against sudden hardware failures, other risks such as hacker attacks, viruses, accidental commands, or user errors are common causes of data loss. These issues are the responsibility of the user.

We offer three backup options for VPS hosting, which you should consider:

Local Backups

This is the simplest option for protecting a website. However, local backups offer limited security and are vulnerable to malware attacks. Users often choose local backups due to their low cost, but they may pose risks to your website’s data. To ensure smooth operation, maintain at least 40% of your storage space free for backups.

R1Soft Backup Licenses

We offer R1Soft Continuous Data Protection, which allows you to protect critical data. This solution requires a backup agent and a secondary server with CDP software. The backup agent can create timed backups within a limited timeframe, enabling faster backups with minimal data transfer. This reduces the storage space needed to retain backup data over time.

R1Soft Backup cost starts at ₹1000/month for 100 GB.

Rsync Backups

This option provides greater flexibility. Users can use any tool to perform backup tasks, as Rsync offers storage space equivalent to the VPS disk space. Rsync works seamlessly with Linux servers, and tools like rdiff-backup provide a similar approach.

Rsync Storage pricing starts at ₹750/month for 100 GB.

If you choose not to use our backup solutions, we strongly recommend exploring alternative options to ensure the protection of your website data and files. Backup solutions are not included in the default VPS hosting plans. We urge you to maintain remote backups of your website data if you do not opt for our services.

Dedicated Servers

Dedicated servers are not protected against data loss caused by hardware failures, malware, viruses, hacker attacks, or accidental user errors, which are common causes of failure and the user’s responsibility. We recommend maintaining offsite backups at all times.

Your Options

If your data changes or you opt out of our backup services, we can provide your updated data from our database. In many cases, you can access this through our billing system or by contacting us at contact us or via email.

Public Forums

Any information you choose to disclose in public forums becomes public information. Please exercise caution when deciding what information to share. If you wish to remove your personal information from our websites or forums, contact us at billing@hostnetindia.com. The ability to delete information depends on its nature.

Data Security

Hostnetindia employs industry-standard measures to prevent unauthorized access or failure of user data. We assure our customers that we are accountable for protecting their data when they use our backup features, with all essential information stored securely on our servers. Your financial information is protected using SSL certificates.

Children's Information

We do not collect information from children, and our servers do not store any legal information about children. If our servers contain information regarding children under 13, we will promptly delete it.

Changes to this Policy

We reserve the right to edit, change, or update this backup policy at any time. If changes are planned, we will provide notification and a 30-day period during which you can inquire about managing or modifying your backup plan.
